Privacy Policy — SyncApp
Effective date: Pending launch Last updated: 2026-05-01 Data controller: Gamalabs, Hyderabad, Telangana, India General contact: support@syncapp.app Privacy / data-rights contact: privacy@gamalabs.in
This is the public Privacy Policy hosted at syncapp.app/privacy. It covers every SyncApp product — currently SyncApp for OneDrive, with seven more flavors planned across 2026 and 2027. SyncApp is built and operated by Gamalabs, an independent app studio based in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
The short version
SyncApp's apps move your files between your phone and a cloud destination you choose (Microsoft OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.). Your file contents go directly from your device to the cloud — they never travel through SyncApp's servers.
We collect a small amount of operational data (crash reports, anonymous app analytics, an opaque per-install ID for support, and purchase verification data) so we can fix bugs, prevent piracy, and answer your support emails.
You can stop using SyncApp at any time and delete your account locally — and we don't keep anything to delete on our side beyond what's listed below.
Which products this policy covers
This policy applies to every app published by SyncApp, including but not limited to:
- SyncApp for OneDrive
- SyncApp for Google Drive (future)
- SyncApp for Dropbox (future)
- SyncApp for iCloud (future)
- SyncApp for Box (future)
- SyncApp for MEGA (future)
- SyncApp for pCloud (future)
- SyncApp Universal (future)
The data flows described below are architecturally identical across products. Cloud-destination-specific notes are called out where relevant.
What we DON'T collect
- Your file contents. Photos, videos, documents, and any other files you sync stay between your device and the cloud destination you choose.
- Your cloud credentials. Sign-in tokens are issued by the cloud provider (Microsoft, Google, Dropbox, etc.) and stored on your device only — typically in the Android Keystore via the provider's official SDK. We never see your password.
- Your file metadata. We don't track which files you sync, their names, sizes, or destinations.
- Your contacts, calendar, or location.
- Your camera roll outside of folders you explicitly pair.
What we DO collect
1. Crash reports — Firebase Crashlytics
When the app crashes, we receive a stack trace and basic device info (Android version, model, language, free memory). Used only to diagnose the bug.
We do not see file contents, account names, or anything you typed.
You can disable crash reporting in Settings → Privacy.
2. Anonymous app analytics — Firebase Analytics
Standard events such as screen views and app opens. Used to understand which features people actually use, so we can prioritize improvements.
No user identifiers are linked. You can disable analytics in Settings → Privacy.
3. Purchase verification — Google Play Billing + Firebase Cloud Functions
When you buy a subscription or lifetime plan, the app sends the Play Billing purchase token to our Cloud Function for server-side verification. The token is a one-time string issued by Google Play; it does not include your name, email, or card.
Verification result is stored alongside an opaque per-install ID (see below) so the app can confirm your entitlement on subsequent launches.
4. Anonymous install ID — Firebase Installations
The first time the app starts, Firebase generates a per-install opaque ID. We use it to:
- Tie support tickets to your installation (so we can reply)
- Cache anti-piracy verification state locally
- Honor your free-tier limits without requiring a sign-up
This ID is not linked to your name or email. If you uninstall the app or "Clear data," it's regenerated.
5. Support tickets (only if you submit one)
If you write to us via in-app support:
- We store the ticket text and any attachment in Firebase Firestore + Firebase Storage
- Tickets are tied to the install ID + an anonymous Firebase Auth ID
- Attachments are accessible only by you and our support team
- Tickets are deleted after 90 days of inactivity
6. Device IDs
Firebase services (Crashlytics, Analytics, Installations) use the standard Android Advertising ID and Firebase Installation ID for routing and rate-limiting. We don't read these directly.
Where your data goes
| Service | Purpose | Provider | Region |
|---|---|---|---|

| Firebase Analytics | Anonymous app events | us-central1 | |
| Firebase Firestore | Support tickets, entitlement state | us-central1 | |

| Firebase Cloud Functions | Purchase verification | us-central1 | |
| Firebase Remote Config | Pricing matrix, feature flags | us-central1 | |

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers. We do not track you across other apps or websites.
Per-flavor cloud-destination notes
The cloud destination's privacy practices are the cloud provider's, not SyncApp's. When you use a SyncApp product, you're agreeing to that cloud provider's terms in addition to ours.
| SyncApp product | Cloud destination | Provider's privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| SyncApp for OneDrive | Microsoft OneDrive (incl. SharePoint) | privacy.microsoft.com |
| SyncApp for Google Drive | Google Drive | policies.google.com/privacy |
| SyncApp for Dropbox | Dropbox | dropbox.com/privacy |
| SyncApp for iCloud | Apple iCloud | apple.com/legal/privacy |
| SyncApp for Box | Box | box.com/legal/privacy-policy |
| SyncApp for MEGA | MEGA | mega.io/privacy |
| SyncApp for pCloud | pCloud | pcloud.com/privacy_policy.html |
| SyncApp Universal | (multi-destination — applies to each cloud connected) | (per cloud, as above) |
What you control
In Settings → Privacy (within each SyncApp app) you can:
- Disable crash reporting (Firebase Crashlytics)
- Disable analytics (Firebase Analytics)
- Sign out of your cloud account (revokes our app's access; your files stay in the cloud)
- Reset all local data (clears sync pairs, cached entitlement, support history)
In the cloud provider's account settings (e.g. account.microsoft.com for OneDrive, myaccount.google.com for Google Drive) you can revoke a SyncApp product's access to your cloud account at any time.
Data retention
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Crash reports | 90 days (Firebase Crashlytics default) |
| Analytics events | 14 months (Firebase Analytics default) |
| Support tickets | 90 days after the ticket is closed |
| Entitlement state | Until you uninstall the app or your purchase expires |
| Install ID | Until you uninstall or clear data |
Children
SyncApp products are not directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe we've inadvertently received such data, contact support@syncapp.app and we'll delete it.
Your rights (GDPR / CCPA / DPDP)
If you're in a jurisdiction with applicable privacy law (EEA, UK, California, India under DPDP, etc.) you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you (it's enumerated above; we don't hold more than that)
- Correct any inaccurate data
- Delete your data (most can be cleared via Settings → Privacy → Reset all local data; for server-side data like support tickets, email support@syncapp.app)
- Object to processing
- Data portability (we don't hold portable user data — your files are with the cloud provider, not with us)
For exercise of any of these rights, contact privacy@gamalabs.in (or support@syncapp.app for general queries). We respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects what we collect, we'll show an in-app notice and update the Last updated date above. Continued use after the change means you accept the new policy.
